Rioghan is a Finnish modern metal act blending gothic melancholy, progressive intensity, and cinematic atmosphere into something both fragile and powerful. After the success of their sophomore album "Kept", which debuted at #6 on the Finnish physical album chart and received international acclaim, Rioghan now begins a new cycle with the upcoming Frozen EP.
The Frozen EP unfolds as a continuous story told in chapters — each song revealing a new layer of emotion and intensity. Chapter I: Frozen reimagines Madonna’s classic through a darkly ethereal lens, setting the tone for what’s to come. Upcoming single
Beautifully haunting and unapologetically heavy, Rioghan invites the listener to step into a brutally beautiful world where contrasts collide — and catharsis awaits.

Live line-up was put into action in 2023, and Rioghan supported Wheel on their "Charismatic Leaders" tour, bringing their stellar show to Tampere, Kuopio, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Lahti, and Oulu.
The band consists of singer Rioghan Darcy, multi-instrumentalist and producer Teemu Liekkala, guitarist Tero Luukkonen, bassist Antti Varjanne, keyboardist Aleks Toppari and drummer Valtteri Revonkorpi.

Rioghan's debut album "Different Kinds Of Losses" was made in collaboration with Jonas Renkse (Katatonia), Einar Solberg (Leprous) and Teemu Koskela (ex-Celesty), and it was rolled out during 2022. Sophmore album "Kept" featured Vikram Shankar (Within Temptation, Pain Of Salvation, Lux Terminus), and it received international critical acclaim, naming Rioghan as one of the most promising acts in the wolrd of modern metal.
Rioghan started out as a solo project by singer and poetess Rioghan Darcy, based in Lapua, Finland. After years of writing poetry and lyrics, Rioghan was founded in 2019 with an intention to fleshen up some of her words with music. After a while, it grew into a trio with Teemu Liekkala (guitars, bass, keys, production) and Valtteri Revonkorpi (drums) added as permanent stars for the band, and in 2024 guitarist Tero Luukkonen and bassist Antti Varjanne also officially joined the band from live line-up. Rooted deeply in both gothic and progressive metal scenes, they are really bringing something interesting on the table.
